Men Against Cancer
MAC is a volunteer patient support group for men with prostate or testicular cancer and for men who have other prostatic conditions.
MAC was founded in 1993 and for some years operated as one of the Irish Cancers Society’s peer-to–peer patient support groups
MAC members provide non-medical support, counselling and information for men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their relatives, to try to ensure no one should have to face prostate cancer alone.
MAC members provide peer support by phone, or in person for patients and relatives.
Our patient support is free and anonymous.
The staff are volunteers – all men affected by prostate cancer.
Many MAC members participate in the Society’s Survivors Supporting Survivors programme and other patient support programmes such as Daffodil Centres and the Volunteer Driving Service.
MAC is affiliated to Europa Uomo the European Prostate Cancer Coalition which comprises organisations in 24 European countries,
