Men Against Cancer
about us
MAC is a volunteer patient support group for men with prostate cancer.
MAC was founded in 1993 and for some years operated as one of the Irish Cancers Society’s Peer Support Volunteer groups
MAC members provide non-medical support, and information for men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their relatives, to try to ensure no one should have to face prostate cancer alone.
MAC members provide peer support by phone, for patients and relatives.
Our patient support is free and anonymous.
The staff are volunteers – all men affected by prostate cancer.
Many MAC members participate in the Irish Cancer Society’s Peer Support Volunteer programme and in Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) panels in Cancer
Research projects with hospitals & universities.
